Senior Production Planner Position

Job purpose

The position is responsible to determine shortest possible lead time to all production orders while planning for all process. Ensures best possible planning tools are in place, defines and monitor process start and end dates. The Senior Production Planner prepares utilization charts and periodically updates the Management on capacity, machine, and process loading. Required organizes and manages the Production Planning department.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Coordinating, controlling, and organizing the production planning processes.
  • Partner with Customer Operations and Material Planner to drive forecast visibility and improved site demand visibility to the operations team.
  • Ensure that ERP or Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) in place is effective and that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.
  • Ensures daily review and follow up of all production processes to meet committed shipment dates of products.
  • Overseeing the entire production schedule and process until secure delivery.
  • Monitor the progress and request production to adjust manpower, capacity, and shift schedule to meet the company’s OTD target.
  • Monitor the production schedule plan VS actual and to ensure the defined cycle time for each process are met and feedback to Engineering for the long cycle time parts for improvements.
  • Managing of sub-con/supplier and issuance of purchase order. Liaise with sub-con/supplier in any delivery, problem statement or change request and assure material availability to support production line.
  • Manages and revising daily production schedules demands as and when required and distributes the information within the company.
  • Leasing among different departments and work out detailed plans to overcome obstacles.
  • Lead subordinates to ensure timely and accurate completion of task assigned.
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the superior/manager/management.

Work experience and education requirements

  • A minimum Diploma/Bachelor Degree preferably with minimum 6 years of working experience in material & production planning.
  • Familiar with sheet metal fabrication process and contract manufacturing environment will be added advantages.
  • Possess good computer skills mainly Microsoft Dynamics and MS Office.
